Stormwater Management

Due to new Stormwater Regulations, all residents are required to put all grass clippings, leaves and small brush into barrels for pick up as they will not be vacuumed at the curb.

Borough Ordinance #555-86

As per borough ordinance #555-86 it prohibits landscapers or tree companies from leaving any debris at the curb for pickup.

Chipping

Chipping is one of the most dangerous jobs we do at the curb. In order to keep our crews safe and work more efficiently, please follow these simple guidelines when it comes to stacking your branches, etc.:

• The chipper is out on a weekly basis from mid March (weather permitting) through to leaf season.

• Your branches/brush need to be stacked neatly at the curb with the cut ends facing the same way. If they are under 3’ in length they should be tied in bundles, not to exceed thirty (30) pounds.

• Please make your piles on the wider side, not the higher side as it will make it more proficient for us to remove.

• Small branches can be included in your grass clippings. They do not have to be bundled.

• Do not pile logs and stumps on top of the brush.

• No branches should be stuffed into barrels so it cannot be dumped out.

• Do not mix lumber or building materials of any kind with your branches.

Leaf Pick Up

Grass barrel pick up ends on October 10th and 11th. Leaf pick up will begin on October 16th and will continue until December 13th. Separate out sticks and branches. Please do not pile leaves around any signs or poles. Brush will not be picked up during leaf season.

Tree Trimming

If you have any questions about tree trimming, please call 201-767-0210.
